PSA Testing
PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) is the reference marker for prostate evaluation.

- Helps distinguish cancer/benign
Good to know: A free/total PSA ratio > 25% suggests benign hyperplasia. A ratio < 10% may indicate cancer.

When to Get Prostate Screening?

Test Preparation
- Fasting is not required
- Avoid sexual activity 48h before
- Avoid cycling 48h before
- Report any ongoing treatment (finasteride, etc.)
- Wait 6 weeks after rectal exam or biopsy

Not necessarily. Elevated PSA may indicate benign enlargement, prostatitis, or cancer. That's why the free/total PSA ratio and additional tests are important.
