Lipid Profile Test at TEKlaB Laboratory
High cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke - the leading causes of death worldwide. A lipid profile test measures the fats in your blood and helps assess your cardiovascular risk.
What's Included in a Lipid Profile?
LDL ("Bad" Cholesterol)
Builds up in artery walls, causing plaque. Higher levels = higher heart risk.
Optimal: <100 mg/dLHDL ("Good" Cholesterol)
Removes bad cholesterol from arteries. Higher levels = better protection.
Optimal: >60 mg/dLTotal Cholesterol
Sum of all cholesterol types. General indicator of lipid levels.
Desirable: <200 mg/dLTriglycerides
Fat from food stored in blood. High levels linked to heart disease.
Normal: <150 mg/dLUnderstanding Your Results
